More on Verse 7: The Greek word for KJV "letteth" in verse 7 is Strong's G2722 - katecho, which means to hold back, detain, retain, restrain. that which hinders the Antichrist from making his appearance. Who or what is restraining/holding back the son of perdition? Who holds things back in the bible? Rev. 7:1 And after these things I saw four angels standing on the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth, that the wind should not blow on the earth, nor on the sea, nor on any tree.
Daniel 10:13 But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days: but, lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me; and I remained there with the kings of Persia.
In Daniel 10:13 a fallen angel is restraining or holding back the good angel who was sent to answer Daniel's prayer. Revelation 9:14-15: 14 Saying to the sixth angel which had the trumpet, Loose the four angels which are bound in the great river Euphrates. 15 And the four angels were loosed, which were prepared for an hour, and a day, and a month, and a year, for to slay the third part of men. (Who was binding the 4 angels in the river? The 6th angel was! God told the 6th angel to loose the other 4 angels.)There is no reason to believe that which restrains is The Holy Spirit or the body of Christ, the church. The bible interprets itself and according to the bible, it is angels which loose and restrain, under God's orders. Therefore what we see happening in 2 Thes. 2 is that there is an angel who is guarding the Throne of God, a cherub. God commands the guardian cherub to walk away. He is removed from guarding the Throne. Thereby allowing Assad to momentarily sit in the Seat of God in the Temple of God in Heaven. This takes place during the war in Heaven in Rev.12. Then Assad and the devil and the other fallen angels are all cast out of Heaven and they fall to the Earth with great wrath and usher in the Great Tribulation of 3.5 years.
Daniel 12:1 (KJV) And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.
The Assyrian Aramaic word (what people call "Hebrew") that is translated as "stand up" which I have underlined above, is H5975 "Amad" which can have many meanings. The KJV translators have chosen to translate it as "stand up". But we cannot deny that the word "Amad" can be translated into many different words including "to stand still, stop (moving or doing), cease, leave, resist, restrain, let, desist, leave off". Source. In the Holy Greek Septuagint, the Greek word here is G450 "Anistemi" which can mean to "leave a place to go elsewhere, got up from" It is used in Matthew 9:9 "....And he arose, G450 and followed him" and Mark 7:24 "And from thence he arose, G450 and went into the borders of Tyre and Sidon,.....", in which cases you see it is used of leaving a location. Verses that detail what is going to happen in the future, as well as verses that determine doctrine, must coincide with another verse in another chapter and/or book of the bible. We can never take only one verse to determine something. We always need another verse to confirm what it really means.
To try to use 2 Thes. 2:7 as a way of teaching that The Church or The Holy Spirit is going to be removed from the Earth before the Great Tribulation, is totally unbiblical and cannot be confirmed by any verse. Yet Daniel 12:1 and 2 Thes. 2:1-7 are in full agreement with each other that the restraining angel, Michael, is covering/guarding the seat of God in the Temple of God in Heaven and just before the Tribulation, he will stand aside, cease to guard the seat/throne and allow the Son of Perdition to sit in the Seat of God, proclaiming himself as God. Daniel 12:1 should more correctly be translated "And at that time Michael the great prince shall step aside (depart, be taken out of the way), that stands over the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of tribulation, such tribulation as has not been from the time that there was a nation on the earth until that time. In due time thy people will be delivered, every one that is written in the book".The context of Daniel 12:1 is that Michael is removed from protecting The Saints from the Son of Perdition. It's the same context as 2 Thes.2:1-7. They are in agreement.
On 2 Thes. 2:7, The John MacArthur NASB Study Bible says "Taken Out of the way: This refers not to spatial removal, therefore it could not be the rapture of the church". Please remember that MacArthur does believe in and teaches the pre-tribulation rapture! Yet he confesses that there is no way that this verse is referring to such! He continues "...but rather a stepping aside. The idea is out of the way, not gone." He acknowledges that it is a stepping aside by something other than The Holy Spirit, thereby allowing the Son of Perdition to sit in the Temple of God.
John 17:15 I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil.
Rom 12:11-12 Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord; Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer;
Revelation 12:1-171 Corinthians 15:52 "In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: (at the last of the 7 trumpets of Revelations) for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed."
1 Thessalonians 4:16 "For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:"
Some people want to somehow believe that Matt.24's trumpet is a different trumpet from 1 Thes.4 and 1 Cor.15! It is so very very clear that this is the same trumpet! To believe otherwise is nothing but rebellion!
Matthew 24:32-51
32 Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh:
33 So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors.
34 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.
35 Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.
36 But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.
37 But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
38 For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,
39 And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
40 Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left.
(Who is taken, where do they go? The churches teach the righteous are taken up into heaven. But what does Jesus say?)
41 Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left.
42 Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.
43 But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief (Compare to Rev.16:15 This comparison is 100% proof!) would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up.
44 Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.
45 Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season?
46 Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing.
47 Verily I say unto you, That he shall make him ruler over all his goods.
48 But and if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming (and go back to unrighteous life)
49 And shall begin to smite his fellowservants, and to eat and drink with the drunken;
50 The lord of that servant shall come in a day when he looketh not for him, and in an hour that he is not aware of,
51 And shall cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
Revelation 19:17 "And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great God;"
18 "That ye may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses, and of them that sit on them, and the flesh of all men, both free and bond, both small and great."
It is very very clear and certain that the wicked are the ones who are taken away and they are taken away by birds and eaten! You do not want to be taken away.
Who gets taken away in Luke 17:34-37 and Matt. 24:39-44? It is clear that it is the wicked tares.
Who rises in the First Resurrection? Revelation 20:4-5 And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years. 5 But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.
This is the First Resurrection. There are no Resurrections of millions of people before this event! Who raises in this resurrection? The Saints! The ones that died for Jesus by not taking the mark of the beast! They lived during the tribulation right here on earth and died for their stand for Christ!
Myth #1 The bible never mentions the church on Earth during the Great Tribulation.

Matthew 7:21-27 Matt.15:6-9 Rev.2:9 Rev.3:9 The ones who say they are Jews but are not, but are of the “Synagogue of Satan” has nothing to do with bloodline. These are false Christians. The bible interprets itself and says that a true Jew is one inwardly, circumcised of the heart. Myth #2 Everything has been fulfilled. There is nothing left to be fulfilled. Therefore He can come back tonight.
Fact There are lots of things that have not yet been fulfilled as of the time of this article and this update (August 2011). The antichrist has not yet been revealed. The antichrist has not yet overcome the saints. The holy city Jerusalem is not yet under foot of the Gentiles. And so on. There are still yet many prophecies to be fulfilled before the Coming of the LORD!
Seems pretty clear doesn't it? Yes, it does! Very clear! When you get rid of what man has taught you and go to the Word of God, it gets clear. Praise God!
Acts 14:22 Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God.
Objection: Revelation chapters 2 and 3 shows that Jesus said that we will not have to go through the Tribulation.
Answer Rev.2-3 is very clearly 7 letters sent to the 7 congregations which were in 7 different cities in what is now modern day Turkey. Notice that it gives you the exact name of each town. Is the name of your town listed? Is the USA listed? The context of these two chapters is Jesus speaking to a specific group of people who lived over 2,000 years ago. Were you alive 2,000 years ago? Did you live in those towns?
It is also true that these 7 churches symbolically represent 7 church time eras from the time of Jesus' birth to the end time. In that sense, only the final church, the Laodicea church represents the end time. The letter to the Church of Laodicea does not promise that they will be caught up before the Great Tribulation, neither do any of the 7 letters promise that!
When we look at scriptures that absolutely, without question, directly apply to the end times, we see that the scripture says that Saints in the end times, in all nations will be hated, persecuted, arrested and martyred. Daniel 12:7 and Rev.13:7 both apply directly to the end time Saints in all nations.
Objection Then why was Rev.2-3 written if all 7 letters are not speaking to the end time Saints?
Answer I can ask the same question about other parts of the bible. Why was 1 Kings, 2 Kings, 1 Chronicles, 2 Chronicles & Deuteronomy written? These bible passages were written but very clearly they applied to people thousands of years ago. They are a written record of history for our edification. After we get past Rev.3, we see Jesus describing things for the end times. But Rev.2-3 were written primarily, specifically concerning the first century A.D. Even then, Jesus does not promise every member of those congregations that they would be protected and neither does He promise any of them that they will be caught up into Heaven before their trial and tribulation occurs.
The Old Testament prophets and New Testament disciples and apostles and Jesus were all hated, persecuted, arrested and martyred. Modern day "Christians" now in the middle east in Iran, Iraq, Syria, Russia, China and many other places across the world are hated, persecuted, arrested and martyred. Why is the pre-tribulation rapture for them? Why do American "Christians" claim that Jesus would never make us "go through all of that" when Christians around the world are already going through persecution, arrest and martyrdom? The mindset of American "Christians" is one of "we don't have to suffer", "we don't have to face what the bible says is going to happen". Yet millions of Christian believers in many nations are already suffering and going through what is listed in the bible to occur in the end times. The American believer is seeing things in rose colored glasses in a limited view of the world, not looking beyond the borders of the USA. But the rest of the "church" worldwide is looking death in the face and facing the test of whether they will submit to Islam or not, will they deny Jesus' Name or not, will they stand with Jesus to the death? What makes Americans so naive and arrogant to think that they will not also face the same tests?
John 15:18-20
:18 If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you. 19 If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you. 20 Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also.
Some people and ministers say it really doesn't matter and that we shouldn't split hairs over when Christ is going to do something. Well, it does matter because one teaching is truth and the other teaching is false, therefore deception therefore a lie from the devil. We should never teach any deception. The rapture theory people use one or two verses, having itching ears, scratching the same single verses over and over again. They have their Hope in going away into Heaven instead of having their Hope in Jesus himself who is able to protect us right here on earth! God did not rapture Noah and his family away into Heaven at the end of that first age. He never takes us out of the storm but rather He carries us through. We still have work to do!
Matthew 24:15 "When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the Holy Place, whoso readeth, let him understand".
Jesus was not referring to those alive in 70 A.D. As they would not be reading the book of Matthew. He was referring to us reading today. "Stand" should be translated as "standing" as it is in most translations. We will see the Son of Perdition (the person that Christians traditionally call "the antichrist") standing (& sitting 2 Thes.2) in The Holy Place.
Most people assume this is in a temple that is rebuilt on Earth but there is no scripture declaring a rebuilding of the temple. I had assumed the "holy place" was the Temple Mount. But the Jews that were listening to Jesus speak those words, would have understood "The Holy Place" as being inside the Temple. It can also be translated "The Most Holy Place". It's referring to The Temple of God in Heaven. Not on the Temple Mount.
2 Thes. 2:1-12
1 "Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him,
2 That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.
3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;
("revealed" is Greek 601 - apokalypto: "to uncover, lay open what has been veiled or covered up, disclose, make bare, to make known, make manifest, disclose what before was unknown". Antiochus Epiphanes had coins made with images of himself and the words "Theos Epiphanes" which means "God seen" or "God manifest". 4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.
("shewing" in KJV & "displaying" in NASB is G584 - apodeiknymi : "show forth, to expose to view, exhibit, to show, to prove what kind of person anyone is, to prove by arguments, demonstrate". He could stand on the Temple Mount claiming to be God but that would not be very effective. But by showing/displaying himself in the sky, in the Seat of God in The Temple of God in Heaven, that would be very effective.)
5 Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things?
6 And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time.
7 For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way.
(Daniel 12:1 Michael the archangel is currently [as of writing this] standing guard over the church as well as The Throne of God in Heaven. But he will be told by God to step aside to allow Assad to take the Seat of God in the Temple of God in Heaven. At that time, the 5th Seal will be opened & the martyrdom of the true church will begin in full force. Rev.12)
8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:
9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,
(Assad's coming from the sky is a false (lying) sign compared to Matt.24:30 and the 6th seal & true sign of Jesus' true coming. Assad comes from the sky with power. That's much more than just standing on the Temple Mount & also much more than siting in a temple on Earth. Rev.12:3 says that Assad's war in Heaven will be a sign that will appear in Heaven.)
10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:
("Strong delusion" in the Greek is "plane energeia" which means a "deception by strong power". The "Strong Delusion" is that some people will actually be able to see Assad in Heaven during the middle eastern war between NATO/USA & Assad. It will appear as if this war is the Battle of Armageddon & the Coming of Christ. But it's actually the war of Rev.12 where Satan & his angels including Assad wage war in Heaven & then are thrown back down onto the Earth & the Great Tribulation begins. The American churches of men have been teaching people to expect Jesus to split the eastern sky at any moment before the Great Tribulation. But that is going to be the Antichrist that does that before the Great Tribulation as 2 Thes.2 is extremely clear that he will appear in the Temple of God (in Heaven) first, before the actual coming of Jesus.)
12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness".
(It's my personal experience that the greatest majority of people are very gullible to all forms of deception, while at the same time, refuse to accept any or much truth. The people are covered in wickedness. Jesus is going to turn the people over to the wickedness that they have embraced.)
The context of 2 Thes.2:1-12 is the same as Matthew 24:1-31, the coming of false Christs & false prophets before Jesus actually comes. Compare 2 Thes.2:3 "apostasy comes first" with Matt. 24:10 "many will fall away". Compare 2 Thes.2:3 "lawlessness" with Matt.24:12 "lawlessness".
Notice the "false prophets" in Matt.24:11 & the false prophet of Rev.13 that will stand beside Assad. Notice that Matt.24:5-24 is warning against the coming of false Christ's & that we should not believe any strong deception. In Matt.24:24 Jesus warned us that there will be great will be great signs & wonders. "For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect"
Jesus warned us that no matter how strong the delusion, to not believe that the Son of Perdition is the real God, because Jesus will not come until after all these things are fulfilled.
When Daniel wrote about the abomination of desolation in the Holy Place in Dan.8:13, he was referring to an actual Temple. 2 Thes.2:7 is also referring to an actual Temple. But in the case of the end time abomination of desolation, it's not an earthly temple. It's The Temple in Heaven.
When the Temple stood on Earth, no man could enter the Holy of Holies behind the veil except only the high priest & even he could only enter once per year, on the Day of Atonement. Even then, he did so with fear & reverence. He could possibly die if not clean, reverent & obedient. In the time of the Maccabees, Antiochus entered the Holy of Holies, behind the veil in the Temple, without being killed by the presence of God! Because God allowed it to happen. God stepped out of the Temple to allow Antiochus to seize & defile the Temple. Assad, the same fallen angel as Epiphanes, will enter the Holy Place Matt.24:15 Each & every time that the temple was destroyed, God allowed it.
Ephesians 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
History shows that Antiochus Epiphanes was forced by Rome to abandon his attempts at conquering Egypt & Rome. In his wrath against Rome & Egypt, he went against Jerusalem & committed the Abomination of Desolation of the Holy of Holies in the Temple. Antiochus has come back in the form of Assad & he will execute his revenge against Rome & Egypt & finish the job.
Rev.17:16-18 And the ten horns which thou sawest upon the beast, these shall hate the whore, and shall make her desolate and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and burn her with fire. 17 For God hath put in their hearts to fulfil his will, and to agree, and give their kingdom unto the beast, until the words of God shall be fulfilled. 18 And the woman which thou sawest is that great city, which reigneth over the kings of the earth.
Pope Benedict & Pope Francis are both fallen angels, as well as Assad. Jesus has put it in their mind to destroy Rome & the Catholic Church & replace her with Islam. The Islamic state of Syria admits their goal of destroying Rome. ISIS will come totally under Assad's control after Al-Baghadi is killed by Russia/Assad.
These & other scriptures are clear that Assad will be seen in the sky, in Heaven, during the Abomination of Desolation. We need to prepare people for the great signs in the heavens & tell the people to not fall for the great deception!
The Pre-Tribulation rapture doctrine is extremely dangerous! It is a major reason why so many people have fallen for many false dates of the rapture over the centuries. Plus, it will be the reason why many people will be so easily deceived that Assad is God when he is seen in Heaven & descends from the sky.
