The False Teachings and False Prophecies of Ellen White and the Seventh Day Adventist Church

The Seventh Day Adventist Church is one of the largest Christian church denominations in the world. Their main teachings that they are known for are the seventh day Sabbath and that Christ's return is imminent, and also their vocal denunciation of the Roman Catholic Church.

However, many of their other teachings and prophecies are wrong. In this article we examine these false teachings and false prophecies in detail.

The Investigative Judgment Doctrine

The investigative judgment is a doctrine unique to Seventh Day Adventists. It comes from a failed prophecy of Christ's return being in 1844. This is 2300 years away from 457 B.C., which is somehow reckoned as a starting point, and the days in the prophecy are somehow reckoned as years whereas 457 BC to 1844 AD 2300 days = 2300 years false prophecy, whereas other prophecies of Daniel like the 1335 days are definitely days and not years.

When Jesus failed to return in 1844, those groups which had proclaimed the 2300 years prophecy instead started teaching that an "investigative judgment" period had started in Heaven at that time. The "investigative judgment" is a doctrine that there is a distinct heavenly timeline and courtroom procedure that began in 1844 and lasts until Jesus returns. There is no basis for this teaching in scripture. It's a false doctrine created for the purpose of claiming that the 1844 prophecy was fulfilled but in a way unexpected.

Ellen White and the 7th Day Adventist Church Believe that Michael The Archangel is Jesus

Scripture is absolutely clear that Michael the Archangel is a different being, and in fact, a weaker being, than Jesus. Michael the Archangel is not God. For them to teach that Michael the Archangel is Jesus, is to worship an angel as God, which the bible expressly forbids.

Ellen G. White and Other Women Leaders in the Seventh Day Adventist Church Goes Against What Scripture Says About Women Teachers

Ellen G. White was considered both a prophetess and a church leader and teacher of men. Whereas biblically women are not to lead men, and a female prophetess is only a woman who has the gift of prophecy, as compared to male prophets who are also church leaders.

This inclusion of women in leadership roles, typified by one of their main founders Ellen White, goes against scripture and corrupts the Seventh Day Adventist church with many effeminate doctrines, as you will see below. To this day the Seventh Day Adventist still bases its doctrines on Ellen G. White's writings and has a high proportion of female leaders.

More on this topic of women in church leadership roles can be read in this article.

Ellen White and the 7th Day Adventist Church Breaks the Second Commandment Prohibit Against Images of Worship

The second commandment is one in which almost all "Christians" are unaware of, although it's written just as plainly as all of the other commandments. God commands us to not have any images of worship, no images of angels, no images of him. But the 7th Day Adventist church constantly displays pictures of Jesus in all of their literature, books, displays, hospitals, doctor offices, etc. It's idolatry.

She Taught that the Biblical Holy Days Were Observed By the Apostle Paul Only Per Jewish Customs

Ellen White falsely claimed that the apostle Paul's observances of the holy days were out of tradition and that there is no reason for anyone to observe them anymore.

One thing we must recognize is that Paul taught fervently against the ceremonial law, such as his writings against circumcision in the epistle to the Galatians. Yet Paul said nothing negative against the Holy Days, such as "I will keep them to evangelize the Jews, but you would do well to not keep them." Not a word like that from Paul.

The other outstanding evidence that the Holy Days are still meant to be observed is found in Zech. 14:16-19. In these verses Jesus has returned, and during the Millennium He requires people to observe the Feast of Tabernacles. If the Holy Days were really just Old Covenant tradition and done away with, then why is Jesus requiring them in his Kingdom? These verses are additional proof to Paul's observances, that we need to still keep the Holy Days today.

Taught that Passover is Required but not Once a Year on Passover Day

Ellen White strangely taught that the Passover communion is meant to be observed, but not on Passover day but rather several times per year. There was no specific frequency mentioned, only not yearly and not weekly. Many Seventh Day Adventist churches today hold a Passover four times per year.

This is not at all biblical. Jesus taught and the New Covenant church observed Passover communion only on Passover evening. The apostles never taught that it should be done weekly or more than once per year.

Incorrect Understanding of the False Prophet of Revelation 13, the Beast Nation, and a False Prophecy about Sunday Law Enforcement

Ellen White and the 7th Day Adventist Church incorrectly taught/teaches that the main end time "false prophet", the 2nd beast of Revelation 13 would be the United States, and that the Mark of the Beast would be a worldwide law-enforced Sunday Sabbath.

The Bible, however, teaches that the beast nation is primarily Assyrian and that the second beast will be 2 religious leaders (2 horns), 2 beings/persons/demons that will stand directly next to the main end time Antichrist, Son of Perdition political leader.
Moreover, the United States supports freedom of religion. A religious law such as forced Sunday observance will never be passed by the American Congress. Rather, Assyria and the other beast nations will support Islamic Sharia law, which is the largest part of the true Mark of the Beast. There is no Sunday Sabbath in Islamic Sharia Law, which has already conquered much of the world and will continue to conquer all nations.

Ellen White and the Seventh Day Adventist Church Believes in Three Persons/People As God

Although it's an extremely popular and radical and extreme belief, the bible is very clear that there's only one person/being as God/LORD, and only one Saviour and no other Saviour. See absolutely undeniable proof in this link.

Ellen White Also Taught Against Coffee, Tea, and Chocolate Beverages (Cocoa)

Ellen White and the 7th Day Adventist Church teaches against consuming anything with caffeine. This includes chocolate! Can you imagine a cult that forbids chocolate? Wow!

If Ellen White and her female dominated church had their way with our laws, they would have banned coffee, tea, chocolate and more, it would probably even be illegal to use sugar. The Seventh Day Adventist Church, being female dominated, is a very legalistic church. Legalism is not righteousness.
Many studies prove that coffee, tea, caffeine and chocolate have multiple health benefits. Anything can be overindulged in, and the bible teaches moderation in all things; but to teach abstinence of these foods is ridiculous.

Ellen G. White Promoted Vegetarianism

White also prominently promoted vegetarianism and taught against eating meat. Although she did not completely consider eating meat a sin, she taught passionately against it and promoted vegetarianism instead. The Seventh Day Adventist Church continues to teach against eating any meat.

We know today that a strict vegetarian diet is less healthy than a diet including meat. There is no doctrine in scripture that teaches against eating meat, but rather Paul calls vegetarians weak in faith. God commanded the eating of meat many times. More on the topic of vegetarianism can be read in this article.

Ellen G. White Taught that Days are Sunset to Sunset

The traditional teaching that days begin and end at sunset is false. When people teach that we can stop the Sabbath rest at sunset on Saturday, they cause people to break the Sabbath before the Sabbath is complete.
The Jews and other tribes of Israel never observed sunset to sunset until after they embraced the Assyrian Babylonian calendar while in captivity.
There is much proof in the bible and in common sense nature that teach days start at sunrise. Our article outlining these proofs can be read in this link.

Ellen White Taught that Christmas and Easter are Acceptable to Observe, "In the Right Way"

Ellen White falsely taught that Christmas and Easter can be observed by Christians "for Christian purposes" only, but not in a worldly and commercial way.

The correct teaching on Christmas and Easter is that they are pagan holidays and abominations to God, not meant to be observed by Christians and not taught in the Bible nor by Jesus in the 40 days after His Resurrection. You can read more in our articles on the topics of Christmas and Easter.

There is no way to keep these blasphemous pagan holidays "in a Christian way" and they are to be abstained from completely.

Incorrect Understanding of the Second Resurrection and the Timing of the Final Judgment

This investigative judgment doctrine also teaches that everyone will be judged when Christ returns. This also includes a false teaching that there is no chance for salvation during the 2nd Resurrection.

Whereas the truth is that many people in history never heard of Christ, or the Bible, and many others were in no mental state to understand biblical repentance. These people can't fairly be judged as saints nor as sinners. The correct teaching of the Second Resurrection can be found in this article. In truth, the Second Resurrection is a first chance for many people and a second chance for many others, and it makes sense that God would be merciful even to give sinners a second chance in a future life, rather than to judge them as sinners while the innocent live a life leading to a final judgment.

The false teaching of Ellen White is that all people's fates are sealed when Christ returns. In order to support this belief, Ellen White taught that people like the mentally disabled will somehow be judged innocent or guilty. Ellen White falsely taught that the Old Covenant people will be saved merely by their faith in the coming Messiah. Ellen White also falsely taught that primitive peoples who never heard of Jesus or the Bible will all be saved only by what limited knowledge they had in their primitive religions. This is clearly bogus and denies the whole point of revelations from God across all history, stating that merely "doing your best with what you know" is enough to know Jesus and be saved. If this were true, then the entire purpose of evangelism would be pointless.

Ellen White Taught that Masturbation is a Sin

Ellen G. White and Mr. Kellogg taught that all masturbation is sinful, and moreover a cause of health problems. We now know today that for men, masturbating regularly is healthier than masturbating never. It helps prevent male cancers.
As for it being a sin, this is never stated in the Bible, not once. Even the incident with Onan was not because of masturbation, but because he refused to have a son for his deceased brother and kept pulling out.
This false doctrine that masturbation is sin is a very effeminate doctrine to teach, yet is now embraced by most false religions and denominations, all based on female/effeminate thinking, not scripture.
Learn why masturbation is much needed by many men. Click here.

Method of Passover Communion, with Unfermented Grape Juice Instead of Real Wine

Ellen White also taught that Passover communion is to be observed with unfermented wine. This goes against the whole spirit of the ceremony and logically does not make sense. Passover is in Spring, before the harvests, so there is no fresh grape juice but only wine available.

By this same logic, White also argues that Jesus's miracle during the wedding feast in Cana was to turn water into grape juice rather than wine. This causes the wedding host's comments on the quality of the drink to seem as nonsense. It was obviously real wine, which people used to drink at weddings and still drink at weddings to this day.

Ellen G. White had a Prohibition View on Alcohol

Ellen White's view on alcohol was that it is a sin to use alcohol for pleasure. Which makes most use of alcoholic beverages a sin according to her. She also supported the idea of alcohol prohibition laws in her time.
Learn what the bible really teaches about alcohol in this link.

Ellen White's Connection With The First Seal, White Horse of Revelation 6, The Four Horsemen

In the mid to late 1800's and into the early 1900's, Ellen White, the 7th Day Adventist Church, William Miller and the Miller Movement and other cults were all involved in the deterioration of biblical roles of women. It was the spirit of deception, false religion and false righteousness, which is what the white horse and the 1st seal of the book of Revelation is about.
Other parts of the white horseman of the 1st seal, were the Nobel prizes and the Olympics. The Nobel prizes and the Olympics displayed false peace, false coexistence, and false goodness/holiness/righteousness. White is the symbolic color of righteousness/holiness. But the first seal isn't real and true holiness/religion/righteousness/peace, but rather a demonic counterfeit of the other white horses of Revelation 19. Therefore the first seal also represents all natures of the antichrist, and there are many antichrists in the world and always have been. Ellen G. White as an antichrist, in this case, a false prophet and false teacher and false apostle/messenger, leading multiple millions of people to damnation.
Her marriage name of "White" is a very strong hint of her identity as one of the many riders of the white horse of deception and false holiness.

Jesus confirmed this to me. I told one of my spiritual brothers about her name being "White", as being an amazing connection. Then I went into the "living room" and saw a woman in a white wedding dress. The dress ripped and she said "This is a sign." Then the scene changed to her in a car singing "Jingle Bells". I fast forwarded it, so as to not hear the song. The words in the subtitles appeared on the bottom of the screen as the word "horse" written 6 times, although I was fast forwarding the screen, the words remained on the screen.

Conclusion

We see that although Seventh Day Adventists correctly identify Saturday as the Sabbath and teach soul sleep instead of instant Heaven or Hell, they deny many other truths and teach many falsehoods including multiple effeminate prohibitions. Their position on judgment after the Second Resurrection is also almost as bad as the traditional teaching that the wicked immediately go to an eternal Hell. And their idea of the "Investigative Judgment" is a blatant and nonsensical cop-out to a failed prophecy which contradicts the correct timing of the final judgment (100 years after the Second Resurrection).

Our hope in writing this article is that people will be able to see the truth through the massive amounts of Seventh Day Adventist writing and literature and rightly avoid that women's cult. Some of what they teach is true or partially true, but that doesn't excuse their permanent acceptance of many false teachings.
